Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts Collaboration Launches With Sora, Riku, Kairi and Roxas, Trailer Revealed

The four characters have arrived in the Fortnite Store as outfits, each with a back bling, a pickaxe, and a matching LEGO Fortnite style. The collaboration also includes a Kingdom Hearts bundle with additional cosmetic items, including the “Keyblade Flourish” emote, the “Lil’ Gummi Ship” emote, and the songs “Dearly Beloved” and “The Other Promise.”
The crossover also extends to Battle Royale. Players can wield the Key to the Kingdom to perform melee combos and summon a lightning attack, while the sea salt ice cream restores health and shields. Two new mods have also been added: “Heal” causes eliminated players to drop healing orbs, and “Level Up” grants each team member a Mythic Key to the Kingdom.
Special “Kingdom Hearts Power Hours” will take place on September 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). During these periods, all players will start with a “Kingdom Key” and a Sea Salt Ice Cream.
Disney and Square Enix also announced at D23 the first original Kingdom Hearts animated series, which will feature an all-new story and involve Nomura and the creative team at Square Enix.
First launched in 2002 through a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney, the Kingdom Hearts franchise combines original characters with worlds and characters from Disney properties.
Over the past two decades, the series has expanded through numerous releases for home and handheld consoles, selling more than 38 million copies worldwide and becoming one of Square Enix’s most successful franchises.
