Getting to Know Minato
Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have released the reveal trailer for Minato, the new heroine joining the Dead or Alive 6 Last Round character roster via downloadable content (DLC). She is the first entirely new addition to the title, as previous characters had appeared in the original version. Her debut is scheduled for September 10, 2026.
In the PlayStation blog post revealing the character, Minato is described as a "mystery." She reportedly attends a high school in Japan and participates in dance competitions. However, she also works alongside NiCO at M.I.S.T. Thanks to this role, she utilizes contact lens technology that allows her to analyze her opponent and copy their attacks. Consequently, her move set will apparently consist of unique skills inspired by her dance background—such as the "Minato Shuffle"—as well as the imitation of others' techniques.
Here is the first trailer for the Minato DLC for Dead or Alive 6 Last Round. In addition to her attacks, we can see two of her outfits: one is a standard school uniform, and the other appears to be an ensemble she would wear for one of her dance competitions.
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Minato DLC will launch on September 10, 2026.
Dead or Alive 6 (also known as DOA6) is the sixth main entry in the Dead or Alive competitive fighting game franchise. It was announced on June 8, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Its worldwide release took place on March 1, 2019. It was also released in Japanese arcades on July 18, 2019.
Utilizing a new graphics engine for the eighth generation of consoles, the game incorporates new features such as visible damage on fighters during combat. New mechanics introduced include "Fatal Rush" and the "Break Gauge," while the sweat effects from Dead or Alive 5 return in a more pronounced form.
On February 12, 2026, during the State of Play event, a new version titled Dead or Alive 6 Last Round was announced. The original version will be removed from the digital store and replaced by the Last Round version upon the latter's release.
