Review: Stellar Blade Complete Edition Runs Better Than I Expected on the Switch 2
While it’s similar to NieR: Automata—though not exactly the same—Stellar Blade Complete Edition feels that way too when it comes to combat. It’s a game that heavily relies on combos and is packed with action, rewarding players who are skilled at landing big hits and dodging at just the right moment.
The parry system is also excellent, with some predictable moments that reward players who successfully parry major enemy attacks.
I wish the enemies weren’t quite so resilient—a shortcoming that still persists in the PS5 version as far as I know—but if you find yourself in a one-on-one battle against an Alpha Naytibas or a character like Scarlet in the DLC, those fights feel incredibly challenging and satisfying.
As for its performance in-game, it seems the game does best at hitting and maintaining the 60fps target under ideal conditions: one-on-one fights with few enemies around and environments that aren’t too crowded or vast.
The game runs well. I did notice frame rate drops when large groups of enemies appeared. And you know, there are times when Eve encounters many enemies in *Stellar Blade Complete Edition* on the Switch 2. The game still manages to stay around the 60 fps target, and I don’t think I ever saw it drop below 30 fps.
Overall, Shift Up did a good job with this port to ensure the game runs smoothly on the Switch 2. It might not be as powerful as on other platforms, but it still runs well.
