T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun)’s Heartfelt Apology to Fans Following a Wave of Controversies Sparked by Poor Communication from His Agency
--
TAMENITY - Former BIGBANG member T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun) has issued a deep, personal apology to his fans following the controversial closure of CHOIDOT one of his largest and most long-standing fansites, which had provided unwavering support for 20 years.
The statement was released by T.O.P himself via his personal Instagram account in early November 2026. This move was intended to address the profound disappointment within the fan community, which stemmed from poor communication management by his agency, TOPSPOT Pictures.
The controversy began when the administrators of CHOIDOT abruptly announced the cessation of their operations. The primary reason was not a personal matter, but rather an accumulation of grievances regarding the management of the artist.

The administrators sharply criticized the agency for exploiting the voluntary, hard work of fans without providing any fair reciprocation. Significant tasks ranging from the promotion of new albums to the organization of large-scale fan meetings were reportedly funded entirely by the fans themselves, while official channels of communication with the agency remained firmly shut.
The situation was further intensified as the news of this legendary fansite’s closure coincided with emerging rumors of a romantic relationship between T.O.P and actress Nana (a former member of After School). Although the fansite clarified that their decision was based solely on management issues and was unrelated to any romantic affairs the convergence of these two developments had already sparked a major uproar within the fandom.
