Tatsuki Fujimoto Is Developing a Manga About Death, Exploring a Positive Perspective
--
TAME OTONITY – The creator of the Chainsaw Man film says he is developing a new story centered on death, though the project is still in its early stages.
Tatsuki Fujimoto appears set to move on to a new manga project following the conclusion of Chainsaw Man, and the central concept may be just as unconventional as his previous works.
In a recent joint interview regarding the live-action adaptation of Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Look Back, the manga creator revealed that he is developing a story that explores a “positive perspective on death.”
Fujimoto did not disclose the title, characters, release date, or publication details for the project. He also did not confirm whether it will be a serialized manga or a one-shot. However, his comments suggest that the idea is already sufficiently developed for him to discuss its central theme, even though the manga itself has not yet been drawn.
Speaking about his creative process, Fujimoto explained that he often starts with a basic concept rather than spending a long time building out the entire world first.
He then develops the idea by combining his own interests and thoughts with elements from works that have recently caught his attention.
