The Future of 300 Shueisha Manga Titles on MANGA MILLION Beyond 2027 Remains Uncertain
--
TAME MANGA – Japanese publishing giant Shueisha has officially announced that it has not yet decided the fate of approximately 300 manga titles currently available on its global digital platform, MANGA MILLION. This uncertainty arises ahead of the service's scheduled closure in December 2027.
MANGA MILLION was originally launched globally in August 2026. This ambitious project was introduced as part of the celebrations marking Shueisha's 100th anniversary.

Through the platform, Shueisha offered around 400 manga series that could be read for free without the need for registration. Notably, all content was presented in 100 different languages to reach readers across the globe.
However, the current focus within the digital publishing industry is the status of nearly 300 of these titles. These hundreds of comics represented works that were receiving official translations into English and other international languages for the first time.
The platform's arrival was initially a welcome development for manga fans who had previously struggled to access official chapters of less popular or underrated series.
