Attack on Titan Announces Two Theatrical Re-releases Alongside A Massive New Slate Of Events

TAME OTONITY – Three years after the anime finally concluded Eren Yeager’s apocalyptic journey, Attack on Titan is now officially preparing for a major revival. Starting in 2026, September 9 will be officially designated by the Japan Anniversary Association as “Attack on Titan Day,” commemorating the exact date when Hajime Isayama’s legendary manga was first serialized in 2009.
Considering how much the franchise has built over the past 17 years, it seems to have become the perfect justification to bring Titans back into the spotlight.
Relying heavily on the legend of the Nine Titans, Kodansha has prepared as many as 99 themed drops and events. This includes releasing the first 99 comic chapters for exactly 99 hours, launching exclusive new merchandise, and hosting a highly anticipated cast live stream packed with fresh reveals. However, the news that is currently drawing the most attention is that the franchise has returned to the big screen.
With Attack on Titan Part 1: Yumiya of Guren and the Final Assault set for worldwide theatrical release in 2026 and 2027, it is clear that the series is not yet ready to have completely left the public’s attention. Eren’s story is over, but there may still be many lives left in the world of giants. To be honest, perhaps Attack on Titan won’t be enough.
First, the co-production film Outcane of Titan Part 1: Guren no Yumiya, which originally began theatrical release, will be officially screened again in Japanese theaters on October 23, 2026.
However, this is not merely a reissue. Equipped with premium specifications including ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX presentations, this film offers fans the chance to experience a new, dizzying, all-around moving action unlike anything before.
