This chapter marks the climax of the Elbaph Arc flashback, which shows the death of one of the strongest human characters, King Harald. Most fans already know Harald as the strongest man, even stronger than the Five Elders, although Imu is still on a different level.
A retrospective reveals that 14 years ago, Harald died after signing the Deep Sea Pact with Imu. The agreement granted him extraordinary power and immortality, but also subjected him to Imu's control. When Harald rejected Imu's instructions to use the Giants as an army, conflict was inevitable.
In that tragic event, Loki was designated as the main perpetrator of Harald's death. However, the legend of Elbaph claims that there is a great secret behind his death, which probably involves the elder Jarul.
Meanwhile, Shanks and Scopper Gaban sensed the powerful Haki of Aurust Castle and rushed over, unaware that Harald had been controlled by Imu. Harald's death shows how difficult it is to match his power.
