Silent Hill: Townfall is a 2026 psychological survival horror game developed by Screen Burn Interactive and published by Konami. The game is played from a first-person perspective and breaks with the series’ traditional setting by taking players out of the United States to a remote island in Scotland.
Originally, St. Amelia was just a small, quiet, and peaceful fishing village dating back to the mid-1800s. Its main industry centered on commercial fishing. Amid a global energy crisis, the giant Chapman Energy Group (CEG), led by Richard Shaw, arrived to conduct an oil survey. They built the Southwell Drilling Platform (SWDP), an offshore oil rig that transformed the island into a modern industrial city. The residents’ economy became heavily dependent on CEG.
Due to negligence and dangerous decisions by CEG management, a fatal disaster occurred at the SWDP oil drilling facility. This incident killed dozens of workers, crippled the economy, destroyed healthcare facilities, and left the local population with deep anger and trauma. The town was gradually abandoned and shrouded in a thick, eerie fog.
The game follows the story of Simon Ordell (voiced by Jovan Adepo), a man who suddenly wakes up and finds himself stranded on the shores of St. Amelia in 1996. At first, Simon feels he has no connection whatsoever to this foggy place. However, he is called back to the island by a mysterious man named Richard Shaw.
While exploring this seemingly dead yet “restless” town, Simon discovers a handheld CRTV (an old-school portable television). Through this device, he can pick up strange frequencies, detect monsters lurking behind walls, and communicate with a nurse named Zoe Ellis.
As the story unfolds, the fog and monsters in St. Amelia serve as a limbo or place of punishment for Simon. Simon, who initially denies everything, is forced to confront the grave sins of his past, which are closely tied to the humanitarian tragedy that devastated St. Amelia. The game’s narrative is divided into six chapters and is played from the perspectives of three different characters—Simon, Zoe, and Richard—to uncover the mystery from various angles.
