The Availability of the Solo Leveling Web Novel Reveals the True Consequences of Tapas' Closure
--
The remaining chapters of the Solo Leveling webtoon are available on Tappytoon using daily tickets that allow readers to unlock one chapter per day for free (except for the last 16 chapters), while the entire Ragnarok webtoon can only be unlocked using points.
However, “Solo Leveling: Ragnarok” is much more accessible on Manta, which offers the option to read the sequel up to the Season 2 premiere using a similar free pass, meaning only the 20 most recent chapters are locked behind gems.
Only 140 chapters of Solo Leveling are available on Manta via the free pass, while the rest can be unlocked using gems, making Tappytoon the better choice for Solo Leveling and Manta the top choice for Ragnarok.
Other alternatives include WebComics, which offers Solo Leveling but not Ragnarok, although the entire webtoon—except for the first three chapters—is once again locked behind a paid service.
As for web novels, this is likely where the availability of *Solo Leveling* has been most affected by Tapas’s shutdown, since Tapas previously offered 189 of Solo Leveling’s 270 chapters and 264 of Ragnarok’s 376 chapters via WUF (Wait until Free). Currently, WebNovel only provides the original version of the Solo Leveling web novel, with 17 free chapters while the rest are paid.
Meanwhile, the best new place to read the recently completed web novel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is Wuxiaworld, where all 376 chapters are available through a similar WUF system. Ironically, Wuxiaworld was once owned by Tapas before being bought back by its original owner recently, and thus narrowly escaped Tapas’s bankruptcy.
