The animated TV series "SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT" will premiere in January 2027 and will consist of eight episodes in total; a new promotional image has been unveiled.
The television series will be based on the story presented in the film “SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT,” currently in theaters, while incorporating numerous new episodes, scenes, and sequences that were not included in the theatrical version. The film had a limited three-week theatrical run in Japan.
According to the production team, the project was originally conceived as an eight-episode television series. During production, however, the team decided that they wanted audiences to experience the anime's visuals and soundtrack on the big screen first, which led to the early release of a reworked theatrical version.

Synopsis SEKIRO : NO DEFEAT TV
