Speaking of narrative, Intelligent Systems chose to make Theodora a more pivotal character in the storyline of *Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave* in several ways. Each main character is tied to a specific element of lore that offers insights into different backgrounds and story arcs.
Taking Dietrich as an example again, his story delves into Fodlan and the Agarthans mentioned there. In Theodora’s case, we gain more insight into Troy—a character we meet in the prologue—and the Anatolian faction due to this heroine’s connection to them. Although we learn a few things from the Anatolia paralogue—which appears in all routes of the first part—and from Dietrich’s storyline, Theodora truly feels like an extra window into understanding these elements.
More crucially, and without giving away any spoilers, Theodora also feels more significant than the other main characters in *Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave* during certain moments due to the events of the War Arc.
Regardless of whether you play through her route in the first part or complete her paralogue there, she is a key figure and a major character in the second part of the storyline. She ultimately plays a major role in driving the plot forward as a result of Eshmel and Fortuna’s actions to manipulate the past in order to shape a different present and future.
Although Cai, Dietrich, and Leda are all great in their own ways, and we see Eshmel as a figure who influences the future, Theodora emerges as the most prominent hero in *Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave*. Her unique gameplay elements and role grant access to different locations.
Her influence leads to her being treated differently and granted access to an area in Dagsion. Her background provides insight into more of Dagda’s lore. And whether you choose to make her your main character or not, Intelligent Systems’ story will still remind you just how important she is.
